The work shows bactericidal properties of photochemical processes taking place on the ultraviolet irradiator.
The optimal conditions for wastewater treatment at a slaughterhouse were determined when examining the influence of the time
of impact on water samples, different concentration of pollutants and from various sources of the technological cycle of meat
processing. It is shown that the longer the exposure time of the photochemical exposure, the more the bactericidal efficiency of
the laboratory installation increases. The characteristic and the number of microorganisms formed on the nutrient medium from
different samples of water from the slaughterhouse of the enterprise, before and after cleaning with a photochemical element, are
given. The effect of constant photochemical irradiation for 10-30 minutes leads to the death of some microorganisms and the
inactivation of the remaining viable cells. It is shown that the photochemical method of wastewater treatment can be considered
as one of the effective methods of disinfection.
