Abstract

The main components of the cathode coating for lithium-ion batteries are the active material, the conductive
additive and the polymer binder. The polymer binder acts as an adhesive that binds the particles of the active material and
the conductive additive, as well as the cathode coating to the surface of the current collector. However, due to the chemical
structure, the polymer can be a source of carbon, serving as a conductive additive. Heat treatment of the coating is necessary
to convert the polymer into carbon. In the present work, the sources of the conductive additive for the positive electrode have
been served by the polyvinylden fluoride widely used in lithium-ion batteries, since it has excellent physical properties such as
thermal stability and wear resistance. As a result of annealing of the coating based on lithium iron ph
