Abstract

Like all types of batteries, lithium-ion batteries also consist of an anode, cathode, separator, and electrolyte.
Each of them performs a specific function in the device. The positive electrode directly receives lithium ions during the discharge
of the battery, creating an electrochemical voltage. The cathode material, conductive additive and polymer binder are integral
components of the cathode. The choice of each of them is based on their physical and chemical properties, ensuring the successful
operation of the battery. Also for the successful operation of the battery is important the correct and rational conformation of
the mentioned components, namely the constructive properties of the cathode coating: strength, porosity and thickness. This
paper shows the dependence of the galvanostatic parameters of the cathode on its thickness. The thickness of the cathode
coating was 200, 400 and 600 micrometers. The cathode with a coating thickness of 400 micrometers showed the best specific
capacitance per gram of active material.
