Мақалада азық-түлік белдеуін зерттеудің теориялық және әдіснамалық негізі ретінде географиялық факторлар мен географиялық алғышарттар жүйесі қарастырылады. Зерттеудің өзектілігі ірі қалалық агломерациялар маңында азық-түлік қауіпсіздігін қамтамасыз ету, өнім жеткізудің тұрақтылығын сақтау және қала мен ауыл арасындағы кеңістіктік-экономикалық байланысты тиімді ұйымдастыру қажеттілігімен айқындалады. Географиялық детерминизмнен бастап қазіргі жүйелік және көпфакторлы талдау тәсілдеріне дейінгі ғылыми көзқарастардың эволюциясы жинақталып, олардың азық-түлік белдеуін бағалаудағы қолданбалы мәні ашылды. Зерттеу әдістемесі салыстырмалы-тарихи талдау, теориялық жинақтау, жүйелеу және көпдеңгейлі факторлық талдау тәсілдеріне негізделді. Жұмыстың негізгі нәтижесі ретінде табиғи-агроэкологиялық, әлеуметтік-экономикалық, кеңістіктік-логистикалық және институционалдық факторларды біріктіретін «факторлар – деңгейлер – көрсеткіштер – нәтиже» қағидасы ұсынылды. Зерттеудің мақсаты - азық-түлік белдеуін зерттеуде географиялық алғышарттар жүйесін әдіснамалық тұрғыдан негіздеу және оны кеңістіктік жоспарлау, агроөнеркәсіп кешенін орналастыру, азық-түлік қауіпсіздігін қамтамасыз ету міндеттерімен байланыстыра қарастыру.
