The effects of red light on the formation of iron-organic complexes in natural water

Experimentally determined the change in the chemical properties of water with respect to iron when exposed
to red light in a different time interval: when exposed to red light for water for 60 s. the lowest chemical activity of water
to the formation of soluble iron complexes with organic impurities is noted compared with other temporary exposures. The
basis of the proposed method for determining the chemical activity of organic compounds in aqueous solutions is the evaluation
of the properties of individual organic compounds or several compounds present in an aqueous solution with respect to iron
compounds. As a controlled property is the ability of organic compounds to complex, which is estimated by the value of the
activity coefficient (Ka).
The determination of total iron in water was carried out before and after exposure to red light. Duration of exposure to red
light on water (in min.): 0.5; one; five; ten; 20; 30. Distilled water with a metal plate was used as a control sample, considering
that distilled water does not contain organic impurities.
