The possibility of using probe methods for measuring the absolute values of electrode potentials

In this paper, we consider the possibility of a fundamental measurement of the absolute values of electrode potentials using probes - small electrodes, is positioned within the electrolyte through which electric current flows. Getting the probe characteristics in the case of electrolyte solutions is a promising method for direct measurement of both equilibrium and non-equilibrium characteristics of double layers formed at the metal-electrolyte interface. The theoretical and experimental problems to be solved in the sequential development of methods of measuring probe of the absolute values of electrode potentials.
